Spotlight on the Center for Infrastructure Research

Spotlight on the Center for Infrastructure Research- Another facet of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, the Center for Infrastructure Research (CIR), under the direction of Dr. Thomas Rockaway, seeks to aid the Louisville Sewer Management and Water companies in making intelligent decisions regarding the use of our resources in the Louisville area. The CIR was founded as a community partnership with the Metropolitan Sewer District and the Louisville Water Company in 2002, joined by Louisville Gas and Electric the year after. Since then, the CIR has sought to provide education and training for professionals and the community at large concerning the allocation and management of our water resources, in the hope that  an informed public will lead to greater efforts at conservation.
