    Conn Center For Renewable Energy Research, Advanced Materials Characterization Service Center

    • Thermal Analysis - (DSC, TGA, TMA)
    • Electron Microscopy - 200-kV field-emission transmission electron microscope, a field-emission scanning electron microscope, and a tungsten filament scanning electron microscope (includes structural characterization and property analysis at an atomic scale.)
    • Surface Anaylsis - UHV system includes XPS and Auger spectoscopy and UPS technique for electronic structure characterization.
    • Optical Analysis
    • Sample Preparation
    • X-Ray Diffractometry - crystallography and phase identification with X-Ray Diffractometers.

      Three Varian NMR spectrometers, available for collaborative studies.
    • 2-channel Varian 400MR (400 MHz for protons) equipped with 96-place robotic sample changer
    • 3-channel Varian Inova 500 MHz NMR equipped with long duration VT accessory
    • 4-channel Varian VNMRS-700 MHz NMR equipped with 1H, 13C enhanced HCN cryoprobe
