The facility houses two Illumina Next-Generation Sequencing platforms and a 10X Chromium single-cell-Seq instrument system. It is staffed with a full-time Facility Manager (Sabine Waigel) and three Senior Research Technologists (Mei Zhang, Vennila Arumugam, and Ashley Wise-Mitchell).



Illumina NextSeq 500

Illumina MiSeq

  • Small Genome Sequencing
  • Amplicon Sequencing
  • Metagenomics (16S Sequencing)

  • RNA-Seq or Amplicon-Seq for individual cells in heterogeneous cell populations
  • Up to 10,000 individual cells
  • Yields clusters of same/similar cells based on transcript profiles
