William A. Metcalf is an Associate Vice President for Research and Innovation at the University of Louisville (UofL) and a Professor in the Brandeis School of Law, where he is the Director of the Entrepreneurship Law Clinic. Will leads research development at UofL, generating record-breaking research and service awards and helping the university embrace an institutional culture that has earned UofL a reputation as a national innovation leader. He has been the principal investigator on more than $5M in awards and is a leader of UofL’s National Science Foundation I-Corps award, focused on technology-based product development and entrepreneurship. Additionally, Will has launched multiple tech-backed ventures, published in law journals on the intersection of technology and the law, and presented to numerous conferences. He holds a Juris Doctor degree and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. In his free time, Will and his wife enjoy spending time with their three children.
