Reissuing all ProCards to Include Chip Technology

In accordance with the new standards for credit card compliance, all University ProCards must be replaced with chip cards.  A chip card has an encrypted microchip on the front of the plastic to prevent card cloning.  When using your chip card, you will typically be prompted for your signature to authorize transactions.  Your chip card will still have a magnetic stripe on the back.  If the merchant does not have a chip-enabled merchant terminal, you can still swipe the card to complete the transaction.

To facilitate the distribution of the approximately 1,400 cards being reissued with a chip, the ProCard Office has scheduled several pick-up days.  (New and replacement cards issued after July 24, 2015 already have a chip; if you have a chip card, you do not need a new card.)

You must present these items to receive a replacement card*:
1.    University ID card.
2.    Your existing card(s) which the ProCard Office will shred.
*If you are sending another employee to pick up a card on your behalf, that person must bring their University ID card and a completed Proxy Statement.
