Prof. Maloney’s specializiation is medieval philosophy, but he also teaches courses in ancient Greek philosophy and philosophy of religion.  His research area is medieval logic and semantics, with a focus on Roger Bacon.  He is currently working on a new Latin edition and translation of Bacon’s Compendium studii philosophiae and a translation of Bacon’s Moralia, a section of Bacon’s Opus maius presenting his moral philosophy.
