The autism certificate is a post-baccalaureate program that requires applicants to have a bachelor’s degree previously earned from a regionally institution of higher education and professional certification/license/other qualified experience in a field related to autism (e.g., special education, psychology, speech language pathology, occupational therapy, or social work).
Students conduct rigorous academic work within the program’s carefully designed course sequence that is taught by faculty with extensive practical and research experience in autism and applied behavior analysis.
The autism certificate program curriculum prepares students to acquire skills and expertise in assessment and analysis of behavior, communication and development. Upon completion of this program, graduates may evaluate, develop and apply educational programs, communication methods, and treatment or therapy strategies, to improve children’s ability to interact and communicate in various social environments.

Board Certification in Behavior Analysis
The Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc.® has approved UofL’s course sequence as meeting the coursework requirements for eligibility to take the Board Certified Behavior Analyst Examination®.
