The University of Louisville offers a Graduate Certificate in Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis (AABA). The autism certificate is a post-baccalaureate program that requires applicants to have a bachelor’s degree previously earned from a regionally accredited institution of higher education and professional certification/license/other qualified experience in a field related to autism (e.g., special education, psychology, speech language pathology, occupational therapy, or social work).
Board Certification in Behavior Analysis
The Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc.® has approved UofL’s course sequence as meeting the coursework requirements for eligibility to take the Board Certified Behavior Analyst Examination®. The autism certificate program curriculum prepares students to acquire skills and expertise in assessment and analysis of behavior, communication and development. Upon completion of this program, graduates may evaluate, develop and apply educational programs, communication methods, and treatment or therapy strategies, to improve children’s ability to interact and communicate in various social environments.
