As Enrollment Counselor, Elizabeth manages the daily operations of managing prospective and current inquiries related to online degree programs and courses. She connects students to resources that can help them start and be successful as online students at UofL. Elizabeth has more than 15 years of experience in corporate training development and more than 12 years in grant writing and raising money for non-profit organizations. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications, with honors, from the University of Kentucky.

What I like the most about my job:

Every day is different and interesting! I love to help future and current online students find answers to their questions and serve as their one-stop connection to whatever resource they need. I connect with students on a professional, academic and personal level and take time to hear their story. I am very proud to offer that support.

As Enrollment Counselor, Ashley assists prospective students by providing answers to questions related to the online degree program of interest, admission and application requirements, curriculum structure, and many other topics. She provides prospective online students with resources related to learning online and connects prospective students with the Online Program team (program director, academic advisor, financial aid advisor, etc.) as necessary, to help them through the application and enrollment process.
Ashley is a University of Louisville alumna – she earned a Bachelor of Science in Theater Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities, Magna Cum Laude, here. In her daily job, she can closely relate to prospective students and share from her learning experience and the value of earning a degree from UofL.

What I like the most about my job:

I get immense pride out of helping people who are on their way to achieve their educational goals. Typically, my team and I are the first point of contact for prospective online students and we are also the information hub where they can come back if they hit a road block. Earning a degree from a reputable higher education institution like University of Louisville generates an incredible opportunity to start, secure or improve one’s career. And I am honored to be a part of that process.

I enjoy reading (I have A LOT of favorite books), crocheting and cross-stitching.

Laura Dorman

Laura brings over 7 years of marketing experience in higher education and online education, brand management and advertising expertise. She works with colleges and academic departments within UofL to develop and implement effective marketing and recruiting plans for select online programs. She also manages the Online Learning web presence, media buying, advertisement placements, creative work and communications related to the promotion of online programs offered at UofL. Laura’s academic background includes bachelor’s degrees in fine arts, marketing and business administration and an executive MBA. She has experienced online learning and its benefits first hand as a student.

What I like the most about my job:

In my position I get to connect nontraditional students with learning opportunities through advertisement. I enjoy playing an active role in raising awareness about online programs at UofL so adult learners can earn the degree they need, in a convenient and affordable manner. I get to be creative and strategic, challenged and rewarded, all at the same time. I love working with academia and with various types of publications (print/web) to create effective promotional materials for our online programs.

Colin joined the Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning at the University of Louisville in 2013 as a Marketing and Communications Coordinator, with a significant portion of his time dedicated to Online Learning. He assists a variety of the university’s online programs with everything from web presence to advertising to content creation. Colin spends most of his spare time as a graduate student at UofL, working toward a Master of Business Administration.

What I like the most about my job:

The Delphi Center is truly a unique place and I love working alongside folks who are committed to providing excellent, responsive and innovative services to the learning community at UofL and beyond. This mission is reflected in every new project the online learning team takes on, and it’s great to be able to connect the non-traditional student with an opportunity to further their education and career.

Kristen Brown

Assistant Director, Online Learning

Kristen Brown is Assistant Director for Online Learning at the University of Louisville. Kristen has been working in the field of online education since 2001 and has experience with bringing new degrees and certificates online, developing student services for online students, and working with data management systems to create meaningful reports. At UofL, Kristen partners with the academic departments and units to bring programs online, clarifies policy related to online education, manages state and federal regulations related to online, and oversees marketing, prospective student management, online education data, and student services for online students. Prior to her career in online education, Kristen was a project manager for several years with a web development firm as well as with a benefits management company where she also served as a programmer. Kristen’s diverse background is connected by using technology creatively, which continues in her career at UofL.

What I like the most about my job:

I truly enjoy working with aspects of the university community – from the academic units to student services to administrative units – the connections and relationships I make throughout campus give me energy and help me understand the university more each day. Further, having my professional home in the Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning provides the foundation for making these connections.

Melissa A. Hopkins

As Program Coordinator, Sr. in the Delphi Center, Melissa assists with the development and management of the budget for Online Learning and Teaching With Technology units, processing purchases and payments, travel vouchers, social media invoices and reports. She provides support to the Assistant Director for Distance and Continuing Education with operational tasks and coordinates office and team meetings with internal and external units and partners. Melissa has earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from McKendree University and continues her professional development through various courses and certifications.

What I like the most about my job:

I enjoy providing my team and department with well-organized and accurate information that helps everybody make operational decisions easier. I also enjoy working with different people of diverse backgrounds in different departments throughout the university and being part of the university culture.
