Mark J. Lynn
Mark J. Lynn joined the University of Louisville music faculty in the fall of 2011 and serves as the Assistant Director of Bands, Assistant Director of Marching Band & Instructor of Trumpet. His primary duties include working with the Cardinal Marching Band, Liaison to UofL Athletics, teaching undergraduate and graduate applied trumpet, undergraduate conducting classes as well as music education courses. Prior to his present position, he was the Instructor of Trumpet at Bellarmine University, Director of Athletic Bands and Instructor of Trumpet at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX and Instructor of Trumpet and Horn at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX. He has performed with the Dallas Opera Orchestra, Dallas Wind Symphony, Fort Worth Opera, Memphis Jazz Orchestra, Jackson Symphony Orchestra (TN), Lone Star Wind Orchestra and is currently of member of Chamber Winds Louisville, Louisville Civic Orchestra and Kentucky Baroque Trumpets.
Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Dr. Lynn holds a B.M. from the University of Louisville, M.M. from the University of Memphis and D.M.A from the University of North Texas. His primary teachers include Kraig Williams, Eugene Corporon, Keith Johnson, Adam Gordon, David Spencer, Michael Tunnell and Herbert Koerselman.
