Amanda Boyd

Amanda Boyd, soprano, joined the UofL voice faculty in the fall of 2012, as a part-time lecturer in voice and vocal pedagogy. This was following the completion of her Doctor of Music in Voice Performance at the Florida State University. She holds a Master of Music in Voice Performance from the University of Louisville and Bachelor of Music in Vocal Music Education from Belmont University. Dr. Boyd serves as adjunct professor of voice and vocal pedagogy at UofL while also teaching full-time as Director of Choirs and Professor of Voice at Indiana University Southeast. In addition, she conducts the 3rd through 5th grade choir at her church. As a concert soloist, Dr. Boyd has performed works such as Rossini's Stabat Mater, Mozart's Requiem, Bach’s Cantata 140 and B-minor Mass, Handel’s Messiah, John Rutter’s Requiem, Vivaldi’s Gloria, and Fauré’s Requiem. Her favorite operatic performances include Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance, Female Chorus in The Rape of Lucretia and Aurelia Havisham in Miss Havisham’s Wedding Night.
