Research Description:

My research interest is the development of edible plants exosomes-like nanoparticles (ELNs) based technology to treat cancer and inflammatory related diseases. In addition, I also work on understanding the cross-talking between edible plants-derived ELNs, gut microbiota and host immune cells in tumorigenesis, metastasis as well as autoimmune diseases. Edible plants affect anatomical niches of gut bacteria that regulate intestinal physiology. However, how edible plants modulate the biology of gut bacteria link to impact of host’s immune cells remain to be determined. In particular, I’m investigating the effect of ginger-derived ELNs miRNAs and lipids on macrophage and NKT cells, thus benefit the treatment of cancer and pathogen in liver and intestine.
