A venn diagram showing the intersections of Patient Care, Research, and Education

The Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapeutics is a dynamic and growing academic division of the Department of Surgery. The vascular division has a tripartite mission that includes the provision of clinical care and services, conduct of clinical and translational research, and education, which includes undergraduate medical, graduate, and continuing medical education. The vascular fellowship program, which began in 2020, is the result of dedicated hard work by the faculty.

The division of vascular surgery has a robust open and endovascular program pertaining to aortic, carotid, peripheral vascular, visceral and dialysis surgery. The vascular division strives to provide the best educational experiences possible for the medical students, residents and fellows of the University of Louisville School of Medicine through regularly scheduled lectures, conferences, Grand Rounds, and visiting professor programs. Apart from three full-time faculty members, the program has three full-time nurse practitioners, four vascular ultrasound technicians, a program coordinator and dedicated research coordinator.
