Dr. Hank Tobener graduated from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine – Carolinas Campus (VCOM) earning his Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree in 2021. Before attending medical school, Dr. Tobener earned his bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC.

In undergrad, Dr. Tobener played on the varsity men’s soccer team for four years and was on the USA South All-Academic team for three of those years. At VCOM, Dr. Tobener was Chair of the Orthopedic Surgery society and a tutor for the Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine class. He serves as a peer mentor through AOCPMR for upcoming medical students interested in matching into a PM&R residency.

Dr. Tobener is also a member of American Academy of Physiatrists and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
