Brent (Gary) Oxford, M.D. graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 2019 after receiving his bachelor's degree in chemistry from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. While in school, Dr. Oxford made time to volunteer as an instructor with Medical Students as Teachers and UofL's Simulation Center, teaching other students note-writing skills and American Heart Association basic life support training. He also served as the co-founder and president of the UofL Neurosurgery Interest Club (an AAN's Medical Student Chapter), managed a UofL student run clinic called the GLOH Clinic, and was a fundraising Marathon Runner for Louisville's Gilda's Club and Medals4Mettle charities. Additionally, Dr. Oxford graduated with a Distinction in Research as a UofL Medical Student for his participation and completion of numerous scholarly activities throughout medical school.

Since joining the neurosurgery residency program at the University of Louisville, Dr. Oxford has continued his interests in research, education, and patient-centered care. A native of Louisville, Dr. Oxford is committed to giving back to the Louisville community and providing excellence in neurosurgical care. His research interests include neurotrauma and spinal cord injury.
