Interprofessional Education

Care of the refugee population requires coordinated efforts among healthcare providers and support services. This type of multidisciplinary care is not commonly taught nor learned within the broad scope of healthcare delivery. To that end, the University of Louisville Global Health Program has all activities focusing on multiple professions working together to address the complex needs of the refugee population. Examples of interprofessional practice involve provision of the domestic health screen exam in clinical settings and provision of immunization at resettlement sites. Information regarding interprofessional approaches is regularly posted to this site.
