    Garrett is a 2016 graduate of Central Hardin High School. He was the captain of the soccer team and kicked/punted for the varsity football team. He was a member of the Beta Club, Academic Team, Spanish Club, Young Democrats, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the President of the Y-Club. While in high school he participated in Hardin County Youth Leadership, Lincoln Trail Youth Salute, the KHSAA HYPE Leadership Conference, the Kentucky Youth Assembly, the Kentucky United Nations Assembly, KYYMCA Go For IT Conference and KYYMCA Leadership Training Conference. While participating in the KYYMCA, Garrett was twice elected to serve as the Speaker of the House at KYA and once elected to serve as Lieutenant Governor. He was also a 2015 Governor's Scholar.
