High School

Mary Catherine is a graduate of Washington County High School, where she was honored on the school's ACT Wall of Fame and served in several leadership positions including as vice president of the Cultural Awareness Club, class representative for the Beta Club and historian of the National Honor Society. She was elected the state vice president of peer education for the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America and was a three-time national, state and regional gold medalist in the program's STAR Event competitions. She was named the 2020 Distinguished Young Woman of Washington County and finished fourth runner-up at state competition. Mary Catherine, the daughter of Tony and Julie Medley, was a 2019 Governor's Scholar at Centre College.

This program truly promotes so many of my personal interests including politics, literature, leadership, and service. I am confident that I will gain a community of young adults with similar passions. I feel so lucky and am truly proud to be a part of the McConnell Scholar Class of 2024.
