Katie Hayden, of Owensboro, Ky., is a member of the McConnell Scholar Class of 2024 at the University of Louisville. She studies neuroscience and political science at the University of Louisville.

Katie is a graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School, where she was a three-time class officer, member of the National Honors Society and was named to the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Cross Country All-State Team. She was a member of the Wendell H. Ford Statesmanship Academy and Impact 100 Next Generation. Katie, the daughter of Richard and Natalie Hayden, was also a 2019 Kentucky Governor's Scholar.
Receiving the McConnell Scholarship is an honor, especially knowing that I will have the opportunity to learn from and grow alongside others that will motivate me daily. I am so excited for the educational opportunities this program will provide me, along with the relationships I will build along the way.
