Bradley J. Birzer, PhD., a non-resident Fellow of the McConnell Center, has written a new book on the life and work of Russell Kirk. The book,Russell Kirk: American Conservative, focuses on Kirk, the founder of American postwar conservatism and his impact in modern theory.

It will be published and released by the University Press of Kentucky in November.

McConnell Scholars recently traveled over the holiday weekend to Mecosta, Michigan, where Kirk lived and wrote much of his work. The trip focused on ghost stories and Kirk’s reflections on them.
