McConnell Center fellow to deliver 'Presidential All Stars' before UofL homecoming game

McConnell Center fellow to deliver 'Presidential All Stars' before UofL homecoming game

University of Louisville alumna and McConnell Center fellow Barbara Perry, PhD, will present "Presidential All Stars: From the Sports Arena to the White House" before tomorrow's homecoming football game.

The talk, scheduled for 10 a.m., Oct. 18, at Gheens Science Hall and Rauch Planetarium, is hosted by UofL's College of Arts and Sciences and will explore how presidents have used athletics to bolster their political images. Admission is free for students; $8 for faculty/staff/alumni; and $10 for the general public.

Perry is co-chair of the Presidential Oral History Program at the University of Virginia's Miller Center. A native of Louisville, she received her B.A. from UofL, M.A. from Oxford University and Ph.D. from the University of Virginia. A biographer of the Kennedys, she has also published books on the presidency and United States Supreme Court.

Perry was recently chosen as the 2014 Alumni Fellow for UofL's College of Arts and Sciences.
