University Mail Services is open for business at both of our locations, in the north side of the Houchens Bldg and at our HSC location in the Commons Bldg.
University Mail Service provides mailing services for the university community.
There are three units within University Mail Services:
- Belknap Campus Center, located at the north entrance of the Houchens Building.
- Health Sciences Center, located in the Commons Building at Abraham Flexner Way.
- Permit Mail Center, located within the Belknap Campus Center.
Packages can be weighed and small stamp purchases can be made at both Mail Services locations. This service is available Monday - Friday during regular counter service hours. We accept Cardinal Cash at our Belknap/Houchens Building location. We are a cash-only operation with the exception of the Belknap Campus Cardinal Cash purchases. Departmental mail needing postage must be dropped off at Mail Services by 2:00 P.M. in order for us to have time to process it to go out with the US Mail by our 3:00 P.M. pick-up.

University Mail Services reminds the university community that many common household items contain hazardous material and cannot be shipped in the mail, whether it is via the US Postal Service or a contracted commercial mail carrier, such as UPS or FedEx. These household items include, nail polish, perfumes, gasoline, batteries, dry ice, etc. Additionally, alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, smokeless tobacco, and prescription drugs are restricted and/or prohibited from entering the US mail system.
