Retrieving Records from the University Archives and Records Center

The University Archives has a scheduled weekly pickup of non-permanent records stored in the storage facility at 1601 South Brook Street on Thursday afternoons. Records requests must be received by noon on Thursday in order to be pulled that week. Requests received after noon on Thursday will be filled the following week. Permanent records stored in the University Archives space in Ekstrom Library can usually be retrieved the same day. Records officers should call or email Archives and Special Collections (ASC) to request records in the warehouses (852-6676 or complete the electronic request form).

The shaded area on the returned and completed Transmittal Form should include an accession number (a four digit year followed by a three digit number, such as 2012-001) and a shelf location (such as FLYD 75-4-3 through 75-6-1). Please include this information along with the folder title and box number in your request; it will speed retrieval of your records.

Records retrieved by ASC are sent via campus mail. If expedited service is necessary, records may often be picked up at the Archives and Special Collections location on the lower level of Ekstrom Library or at the warehouses by office staff; please call 852-6676 to arrange a pickup. Similarly, records may be returned via campus mail or arrangements may be made to meet Archives staff at the warehouses to drop them off.
