U.S. Attorney's Office in Kansas City Accepting Applications for Summer Internship

The United States Attorney's Office for the Western District of Missouri has a law intern program that is rigorous and unique, offering an invaluable experience to those students who take advantage of it. Greenebaum Fellowship Funding Available: Although these internships are unpaid, Brandeis students who received offers for unpaid positions with the U.S. Attorney's Office are eligible to receive summer funding through the Samuel L. Greenebaum summer fellowship program. Students may apply for this funding as soon as they secure an offer from the U.S. Attorney's Office.

If you are interested in seeing inside the Department of Justice at a grass roots level, attorneys in action in the courtroom, federal agencies and prison facilities, and stimulating meaningful work, the United States Attorney's office for the Western District of Missouri wants to talk with you.  The Kansas City office is accepting applications from current first and second year law students for its unique summer internship experience.  Students interested in a career in public service can gain practical legal knowledge while participating in important and rewarding work.  While at the present time, we are unable to offer paid positions, many law schools provide class credit for the experience or stipends so it is important to speak with an advisor.  Additional information is available at the office website link: www.justice.gov/usao-wdmo/summer-law-student-internship.

Applicants should submit a cover letter, resume and transcript to Senior Litigation Counsel Gregg R. Coonrod at e-mail address USAMOW.LawIntern@usdoj.gov before December 18, 2016.  First year students are encouraged to apply and submit their first semester law school transcript at a later date.  The letter should include an explanation of any links/connections the applicant might have to the Kansas City metropolitan area.  All interviews will be in person at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Kansas City between December 12, 2016 or after January 13, 2017.
