If you want to make a difference in the quality and affordability of K-12 education today, designing and constructing high-performance school buildings is the place to start. Join Kentucky school districts that are leading the nation in high performance building standards—from the first net-zero schools in the country to the state's exponential growth in Energy Star K-12 facilities. This workshop will prepare school board members and administrators to know what to ask for to make their next building renovation or new construction sustainable and financially successful.

Each day, participants will travel by bus to high performance sustainable schools in the area that are operating at below-average costs for Kentucky schools. Project teams will share strategies for creating a whole building design and their procurement processes.
Sessions will be led by recognized professionals in school design, including school officials, architects and engineers who have successfully designed and built high performance school buildings. They will present case studies of these schools as well as the “whole-building” design and procurement strategies used to create them.
Online registration and additional information. Early Bird registration ends March 1, 2012.
