Building energy benchmarking is an important tool to increase the effectiveness of building energy management programs and public communication of benchmarking results can further motivate internal and external support of these programs. Governments and school districts will share their experience tracking, analyzing, and communicating quantifiable energy efficiency achievements within their portfolio of buildings and throughout the community. Benchmarking and public disclosure will be discussed from three different successful models of implementation.
