Fundamentals of Compressed Air Systems is a one-day introductory course designed to teach facility engineers, operators and maintenance staff how to achieve 15 - 25 percent cost savings through more effective production and use of compressed air.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Calculate the energy cost of compressed air in their facility
  • Improve compressed air system efficiency and reliability
  • Identify inappropriate uses of compressed air
  • Establish a baseline by which they can measure improvements in compressed air performance and efficiency
  • Match system supply to actual production requirements for pressure and flow
  • Find and fix leaks
  • Establish a leak prevention program
  • Better control compressed air to improve productivity and profitability

Through a series of workshops, the Compressed Air Challenge® helps you evaluate your own systems and apply proven techniques. Workshop participants will be able to achieve higher productivity, reduced downtime, greater energy savings, increased product quality and greater efficiency.


Facilitated by Dave Booth, Sullair, U.S. DOE certified facilitator. With over 20 years of experience in the design, maintenance and installation of mechanical and electrical systems, Mr. Booth brings a broad range of diverse problem solving skills and perspective to improving compressed air systems.

Registration and continental breakfast begin at 7:30 a.m., the workshop begins at 8:00 a.m.

Presented as part of KPPC's Environmental Sustainability training series, this workshop is offered in conjunction with the Industrial Technologies Program (ITP) as part of its national efforts to improve industrial energy efficiency and environmental performance. ITP is part of the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy and contributes to its efforts by partnering with U.S. industry in a coordinated program of research and development, validation and dissemination of energy efficiency technologies and operating practices. ITP works with industry to save energy and money, increase productivity and reduce environmental impacts.


Workshop cost is $199 per person.
