MSSW Students Attend the CLOUT Nehemiah Action Assembly

Clout Assembly

Thirty one MSSW students from Larry Michalczyk’s and Cory Moneymaker’s Policy classes, along with Dr Karen Kayser, attended the CLOUT Nehemiah Action Assembly on March 26. Kent faculty members, Dr Joe D’Ambrosio and Barbara Gordon presented on the need for the development of a "Village model" for older adults in Louisville. Other areas addressed at the assembly included Affordable Housing, Restorative Justice in the Schools, and the Living Room project. There were over 1000 people in attendance, including 5 Louisville Metro Council members. These and other social justice interventions are in jeopardy because of the impending $35 Million in Lou Metro budget cuts. Advocacy needed.
