Kent Student Emergency Fund
Our Kent students are Champions for Change! We are proud of the persistence they have shown this Spring semester to complete their courses among the uncertainties of COVID-19. While we are excited for the bright futures of our graduates, many of our students’ journeys still continue and additional challenges could await.
Did you know that our Summer term will be offered entirely online? While this shift to distance learning will be easy for some, other students will be challenged with finding a reliable computer and WiFi access necessary to complete their studies. Among balancing additional family and caregiving roles and potential job losses, some students still must find time in their schedules to commute to facilities still open on campus to access the resources necessary to complete their work. For a single parent who has lost their job, the money for gas to get to school may mean sacrificing the ability to pay another bill.
At the heart of social work is a community of care and our students need you! A gift to the Kent Student Emergency Fund, large or small, could mean a students’ social work aspirations don’t end as a dream, but a reality within reach! In honor of our student’s resilience in 2020, we hope you will consider a gift of $20+ to the Kent Student Emergency Fund to help a future social worker in need.
