Dr. Sharon Moore Selected to be a Panelist at the University of Texas at Austin Otis Lecture

Kent professor, Dr. Sharon Moore, will be a panelist at the University of Texas at Austin Otis Lecture on Police, Criminal Justice, Social Work and Racism along with fellow panelists Derrick Jackson, BSW, MSW, Director of Community Engagement, Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan, and Doug Smith, MSSW, Senior Criminal Justice Policy Analyst, Texas Criminal Justice Coalition.  The virtual lecture will be held this Friday, March 26th at 12:30 PM CT.  

The Dean Jack Otis Social Problem and Social Policy lecture series is presented every 12-18 months through the Steve Hicks School of Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin. The lecture has taken place for over a decade now and the purpose is to focus on a current social policy issue that is important to social work.

This forum will focus on the topic of racism, criminal justice/police reform, and social work in the United States.

Cost: This is a FREE event. CEUs are included at no charge, thanks to the support of the Jack Otis Endowment.
