Workshop Description

Preventing and Reducing the Impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) is a dynamic training course that defines and explores the effect of trauma on children, why ACEs is classified as a public health epidemic by the Centers for Disease Control and research based techniques to prevent and/or reduce ACEs.

Preventing and Reducing the Impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) is a dynamic training course that defines and explores the effect of trauma on children, why ACEs is classified as a public health epidemic by the Centers for Disease Control and research based techniques to prevent and/or reduce ACEs. At the conclusion of the training, participants will be empowered to:

  • Determine what is defined as a traumatic event in the life of a child
  • Identify signs of traumatic stress in children
  • Recognize the physiological and long term effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences
  • Execute Trauma Informed Care
  • Prevent and reduce the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences through evidence based techniques/practices/skills
  • Take a personal ACEs assessment
