This presentation will provide an overview of the DSM-5.  The presentation will discuss the history of the DSM and the changes from the DSM-IV to the DSM-5. A comprehensive overview of each section will be discussed and the criterion associated with disorders.  The presentation will also highlight assessment and provide case conceptualizations. 

As a result of attending the workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Develop an understanding of the history and of the DSM and the development of the DSM-5.
  2. Obtain an understanding of sections of the DSM and criterion associated with the disorders.
  3. Develop skills in assessment and appropriate use of the DSM in the diagnostic process.
