About

Virginia has decades of work and service as a violent crimes investigator, behavioral analyst, victim’s advocate, chaplain, and community leader. Her research interests include wrongful convictions, grief and loss arising from traumatic events, violent criminal behavior, crisis negotiations, the impact of incarceration on communities and families, and police and community responses to individuals in crisis. 

Virginia is currently working with Dr. Deborah Keeling on the citizen and police attitudes annual survey, the Louisville Metro Police Department Vehicle stops report, and ongoing program evaluation of The Living Room diversionary program.
