JOB SUMMARY
Develop custom GIS programs and applications for customers of the Center for GIS. Act as primary technical support person for GIS site license users. Develop and maintain cooperative ventures with Federal, State, and local government agencies and other commercial enterprises. Maintain the GIS database.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as lead GIS programmer at the Center.
Develop custom applications, maps and data.
Act as primary technical support liaison for students, staff and customers of the Center.
Market the services of the Center and consult with potential clients.
Maintain hardware and software at the Center and for the Department of Geography & Geosciences.
Assure lab facilities and departmental computers are operating at peak performance.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Earth Science or Urban Planning.
EXPERIENCE
Three years of related experience, with training or experience in geographic information systems.
