JOB SUMMARY

Serve as the University's art director. Direct and coordinate the design of major university marketing and communications materials and projects. Direct and plan production of design projects, design and produce graphic art materials for print publication and electronic and digital publication using computer publishing hardware and software and traditional graphic arts techniques.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

Direct and coordinate the design of major university marketing and communications materials and projects, including photograph, production and printing. Confer with editorial staff and external clients on projects. Design and produce graphic art materials for print publication and electronic and digital publication using computer publishing hardware and software and processing equipment.

Coordinate the ongoing development and application of a comprehensive image campaign and graphic identity program for the university. Counsel administrators, faculty and staff on these guidelines.

Assist with planning and strategy for marketing projects and communications media, contributing ideas for design, layout and photography. Serve as a member of university-wide marketing teams.

Serve as senior art director for department. Supervise and coordinate with student assistants, production coordinator, etc. Supervise and collaborate with other on-staff designer.

Advise director on compute-related technical needs of the office. Keep updated on design trends, software and technology upgrades.

Other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field.

EXPERIENCE

Six years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
