JOB TITLE:Graphics Photographic Technician

JOB SUMMARY

Perform photographic and image assembly work including the exposure and development of plates, prints and photostats.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

Evaluate art work and photographs to determine proper method of reproduction, exposure and image size.

Review camera-ready art.

Prepare page layouts, positioning negatives on masking sheets and cutting color block.

Operate process camera to make line and halftone negatives.

Plate assembled negative flats for production by press.

Evaluate quality of work, opaquing pinholes and scratches, repairing broken art and trimming to size.

Burn and develop plates.

Prepare proof prints for review, adjusting as needed.

Organize and maintain negative and plate storage system, filing and retrieving as needed.

Clean and maintain all equipment.

Supervise and train staff as needed.

Perform related duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS

Associate's degree in Graphic Arts.

EXPERIENCE

Four years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
