Job Summary

Direct and manage food research projects, budgets, meetings and reports. Develop and maintain working relationships with food industry management to develop projects. Manage support personnel, goals and appraisals. Collaborate with faculty and staff for project support and equipment and facility requirements. Maintain a high level of expertise on food processing, food packaging and food regulations. Provide Executive leadership for Distillers Grains Technology Council (Planning, budgeting, Board meetings, symposiums, membership development, etc.)

Duties and Responsibilities

Direct and manage food research projects that this position has obtained from industry or from other funding organizations.

Develop and maintain working relationships with food industry management to provide contacts, write research proposals and provide technology assistance.

Responsible for managing support personnel that work for the Food Processing Program.

Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and carry out projects related to food and food processing.

Maintain a high level of current knowledge and expertise on food, food processing, food packaging and food regulations.

Provide executive leadership for Distillers Grains Technology Council, a nonprofit organization, that funds management and office support activities. As Executive Director and CEO, set up and facilitate Board of Director Meeting, provide budgets and cash flow statements, set up and manage symposiums and provide other duties as necessary.

Knowledge, Training and Skills

Master's degree in Food Science and/or engineering, chemistry, microbiology, marketing, accounting or finance.

Experience

Nine years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
