Job Summary

Plan, develop, and coordinate the Multi-disciplinary Program in the Special Senses; developing research resources, planning workshops, developing community education programs and managing budgetary and personnel functions.


Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinate the development groundwork necessary to get the Multi-disciplinary Program in the Special Senses established.

Develop and implement research and educational programs which will entail coordination of activities among multiple units within and without the School of Medicine.

Direct the public relations activities for the program through seminars, news releases, speakers' bureau, etc., as well as coordinate fund raising efforts through the Development Office.

Plan, coordinate, and supervise research and educational workshops and seminars.

Develop and maintain contact with sponsors and beneficiaries.

Hire and supervise program personnel and fulfill other personnel management responsibilities as appropriate.

Prepare budget and monitor expenditures and other budgetary responsibilities as appropriate.

Coordinate visits and tours of the program for representatives of the business community, funding agencies, and affiliated universities.

Perform other related duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Training and Skills

Master's degree in a health related field.



Four years of related experience.  Additional experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements.
