Job Summary

Design electronic systems, hardware and software for use in the instrumentation of research throughout the University.

Duties and Responsibilities

Work with faculty in specifying measurement system needs for their research.

Assist faculty in making cost effective "Build versus Buy" decisions for such research equipment. Assist with selection of equipment and development of procedures and standards.

Design and construct specified electronic hardware for research.

Design and write specified computer software for research.

Integrate commercially available instrumentation, when cost effective, into measurement systems.

Maintain knowledge and proficiency in developing hardware and software technologies as related to research instrumentation systems.

Knowledge, Training and Skills

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with biomedical emphasis.


Eight years of related experience.

An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
