Job Summary

Exercise general accounting control over one or more large accounts within a given fund or organization or for multiple operational units and assist in the development of new and improved accounting procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reconcile selected accounts on a regular basis to insure proper internal control of related assets, liabilities, principal balances, endowment fund income or other financial indicators.

Accumulate data to support the development of various overhead and indirect cost factors to be applied to departments or funds.

Assist in the design and development of new or improved controls and procedures to provide more efficient and accurate accounting processes.

Maintain departmental or program expenses against the budget and communicate with directors or managers to answer questions relating to expense control for endowment funds or departments.

Assist in preparation of accounting reports or year-end closing of accounts or annual budgets when necessary.

Assign and maintain the work of clerical support staff as required.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Training and Skills

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related field.


Two years of experience in General or Fund Accounting. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
