JOB TITLE: Associate Director, Admissions Processing

Assist in the operations of processing applications, records and decisions, and serve as a resource person to administrative service, and academic units on admissions policies and procedures.


Direct the operations of admissions processing, including administering University admissions policies for most undergraduate units and processing of all graduate applications, receipt and maintenance of the computer system that support these processes. Assist in budget management of the Admissions Office.

Recruit, select, train, supervise, evaluate and plan work for ten full-time staff, one graduate assistant , and other student workers.

Direct the process of initial evaluation of transfer credit, including maintenance of Student Transcript System and access to reports by units. Assist in development and enhancement of AMS and the new SIS.

Direct the development and management of procedural manuals, internal guidelines of admissions undergraduate and graduate applications and publications for processing. Responsible for training of all Admission Counselors and staff in adjudicating applications for the undergraduate units.

Coordinate admission services to international students and special groups. Make recommendations on policy changes governing these groups. Review and adjudicate applications. Counsel students, parents, university personnel and community regarding criteria for admission. Make appropriate exceptions to admissions policy and residency determination.

Serve as liaison to all undergraduate and graduate enrollment units. Serve as delegated authority for select exceptions to stated admission candidates and serve as liaison to Student Services concerning admissions polices. Serve on the AS and TS Academic Appeals Committee.

Support in the recruitment efforts by doing on sight visits for three high schools and act as their liaison: Assist with large recruitment programs such as Campus Preview and An Evening With UofL. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Continue professional development to enhance on the job performance as well as personal growth. Participate in workshops, seminars and professional activities.


Master's degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education, or related fields.
