Job Summary

Plan, manage, direct and evaluate the professional, financial and personnel aspects of the Nutrition Department and direct all aspects of the federally funded Women, Infants and Children Program.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop, plan, implement, monitor and evaluate the nutritional programs, projects, and the WIC program.

Represent the Department during state nutrition advisory committee meetings.

Perform the functions of a staff nutritionist as needed.

Prepare and control departmental budget.

Coordinate the activities of the nutrition program with various other University health departments and community agencies.

Interview, select, train and evaluate support staff members.

Delegate work and responsibilities as required.

Prepare periodic and special reports as requested or required; summarize progress and activities at regular intervals.

Coordinate projects and the provision of in-service and home nutritional and orientation programs.

Interpret and enforce state, local and University regulations, policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Training and Skills

Master's degree in Nutrition or closely related area. Registration in the American Dietetic Association. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.


Four years of Public Health, Nutrition experience or related area.
