Health & Sport Sciences LLC

The Health and Sport Sciences Living Learning Community brings together students wishing to pursue a career in Sport Administration or Health and Human Performance fields.

This community provides students majoring in Sport Administration and Health and Human Performance (concentrations in Exercise Science, Physical Education Teacher Preparation, and Youth Sport Development) the opportunity to experience Health and Sports Sciences through complete immersion. Participants of this LLC will live on the same floor, take courses together, and receive specialized programming focusing on academic and social integration. This community is housed in Unitas Tower, located adjacent to the advising and student support office for these majors. Learn more about Unitas Tower here.

Meet the Advisors

Ben Craig has worked at the University of Louisville for six years. Originally working in the Career Development Center while completing his Master’s in College Student Personnel, he moved to the College of Education and Human Development’s advising office in 2012. Initially serving as an Academic Counselor, Ben advanced to Coordinator for Health and Sports Sciences advising. He will be teaching the HSS 181 course for the LLC participants and will be the academic counselor for many of the participants.

Ben is originally from chilly St. Paul, Minnesota. While his hobbies are vast, he is an avid hockey and tennis fan. His professional interests are student development/advising.

 

Brandon Joseph has been a part of the University of Louisville community since August 2012 when he moved to Louisville to pursue a master’s degree in Sport Administration, which he earned in May 2014.  He is currently working towards a Ph.D. in Counseling and Personnel Services with a concentration in College Student Personnel.  Brandon has been employed at UofL since 2013 and is currently an Academic Counselor in the Health and Sport Sciences Advising office.

Brandon is originally from Fairbanks, Alaska and grew up a sports fan of most things Los Angeles (UCLA, LA Dodgers, Oakland Raiders).  His hobbies include playing basketball, watching sports, traveling to new places, eating delicious food, and spending time with wife, Shaun Sowell, their son, Trajan, and other friends and family.
