Health and Sport Sciences LLC Application

The Health and Sport Sciences Living-Learning Community (HSSLLC) brings together students wishing to pursue a career in sport administration, exercise science, physical education, and youth sports development into a dynamic and engaging campus environment.  This residential community fosters exploration of these career paths through common courses, programs and activities, volunteer opportunities, and connections to campus and community resources.

Required Courses:

Fall
HSS 181 – Academic Orientation (1 hr.)
HSS 184 – Healthy Lifestyles I (3 hrs.) This course meets an HSS core requirement.

Spring
HSS 293 – Social & Psychological Dimensions of Physical Activity (3 hrs.)  

This course meets an HHP core requirement.  HSS 293 will also meet the following General Education Requirements:  Social and Behavioral Sciences (SB) and Cultural Diversity II (CD2)

As a student in this community, you can expect to receive the following:

  • Transition assistance from high school to the University of Louisville
  • Opportunities to meet with HSS faculty and professional advisors outside of the classroom and advising appointments
  • Academic programs to assist you in being successful as a student
  • Programs and information to encourage a healthy lifestyle
  • Social activities to assist you to getting to know community members better
  • Volunteer opportunities to enhance our campus and local community

This agreement is binding for both fall and spring semesters. Remember that you must also apply for housing.
