Mengwei Jiang, a pharmacology and toxicology program PhD candidate in the laboratory of Dr. Wenke Feng (former COBRE project PI), has been awarded a Ruth L. Kirschstein Predoctoral Individual National Research Service Award (F31) from the NATIONAL INSTITUTE ON ALCOHOL ABUSE AND ALCOHOLISM for his PhD research project entitled “Probiotic and intestinal miR194 regulation of bile acid metabolism in alcoholic liver disease”. This fellowship award will support Mengwei’s research in alcoholic liver disease by investigating microRNA-regulated gut-liver axis.
