Success is a series of small things

What does it take to be successful in college? That question is answered both inside and outside the classroom, as you take advantage of the many resources and opportunities UofL has to offer.

The SSC Success Series offers a wide variety of meetups, events and workshops to help you connect with other students, add to your student success toolbox, and possibly win some prizes along the way.

First-gen Student Meetup (Virtual via Teams)
Navigating college as a first generation student isn't always a cake walk, whether you're a first year or a senior. Making personal connections can help you travel more confidently ahead and discover new opportunities. Join this virtual meetup for casual conversations and Q&A with first-gen faculty, staff and students. One randomly chosen participant will receive a pair of Beats Solo 3 headphones.

Pop Culture Trivia Night (Virtual via Zoom)
Movies, music and iconic moments... this is one virtual event you're guaranteed to enjoy. The Student Success Center will be hosting a fun-filled Pop Culture Trivia Night, lead by online personality Matt Eickhoff. One randomly selected participant will receive Beats Solo 3and the players from the winning team will each receive a UofL swag bag.

Procrastinating is very much related to stress and how we respond to it. Learn how to recognize when you begin procrastinating before it’s too late to recover. Procrastination does not equal laziness! Hosted by TRiO Student Support Services.

Personal Statement Workshop (Virtual via Teams)
Applications for scholarships, graduate and professional programs and study abroad often ask for a personal statement or responses to essay questions. What are they looking for? How can you make your app stand out? Learn the basics and some great tips, and leave with examples, resources and a plan to make your own great personal statement.

Valentine's Day Trivia Night (BAB 218)
Trivia Night, with a Valentine's twist! Compete with friends and battle "love" for a grand prize. Questions will be "love" themed from movies, classic love stories, flowers, couples and more.

Spring Resource Hunt (via GooseChase)
Finding resources on campus can be tricky, but it doesn’t have to be. Journey on a campus-wide adventure as you follow the interactive clues to compete for prizes & discover where UofL's many resources are located. The student who scores the most points wins a grand prize of an Echo Show 8. In case of a tie, two participants will be randomly selected from among the highest scorers. 

To play, download the GooseChase app. Search for event: Spring Resource Hunt, then enter the pass code UOFL22. The game will open at 7:45AM on Tuesday, and close at 5:30PM on Wednesday.

What's Your UofL Bucket List? (BAB 218)
Now is the time to maximize your college experience. In this interactive experience, you'll create your own college bucket list, reflect on how you currently spend your time, and make a plan to achieve your goals. FREE grab and go snacks will be available for participants.

Take a break from finals stress and join us to indulge in relaxation activities involving different kinds of crafts. Snacks will be provided and you have the chance to win a few giveaways!
