GibraltarABOUT THE PROGRAM: The HSS-ISA participants will get first-hand international service-learning experience volunteering for the UEFA 2020 Championship Tournament in beautiful Copenhagen, Denmark. In addition to their volunteer and coursework, students will have the opportunity to visit Nyhavn (historic areas), the Tivoli Gardens, attend castle tours (Rosenborg Castle), visit the Den Bla Planet aquarium, and tour museums, churches, and architectural buildings (Kastellet). A detailed program itinerary will be available online at the end of November.

APPLICATION INFORMATION & ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must be degree seeking (BS, MS and doctoral students) HSS/CEHD students. Undergraduate students are required to have completed at least 45 credit hours by the start of the program. Non-HSS students may seek permission to apply from the Program Leaders. Please note that program capacity is limited and participation is contingent upon acceptance by the program leaders. The application deadline is October 27, 2019. Because program size is limited, early application is strongly advised. Individual interviews may be scheduled with students upon receipt of application.

CREDITS AND COURSES: All students accepted into the program will be enrolled in HSS 598 or SPAD 561: International Learning Copenhagen, Denmark: UEFA 2020 Championships. In addition to the coursework abroad, students are will attend four mandatory 2-hour class sessions in the spring 2019 term (meeting dates TBA).

ACCOMMODATIONS: Program participants will be staying in hotel/apartments located in near the venue —one of Copenhagen's most popular neighborhoods. Accommodations will be just a few Metro stops and/or within walking distance of Copenhagen’s vibrant city life and numerous tourist attractions.

DISABILITY ACCOMMODATIONS: Students with documented disabilities who may need accommodations during their International Learning Program should discuss these needs with the Logistics Leader at the time of application.

INTERNATIONAL LEARNING SCHOLARSHIPS: A limited number of scholarships are available. Students are encouraged to apply. For scholarship information contact Ryan Rathmann.

IMMUNIZATIONS AND MEDICATIONS: All participants will need to complete a Health Clearance Form and must meet with Campus Health or their health care provider to determine individual health needs for travel to Denmark.
