GSS Newsletter - Week of 10/21/20

Dear CEHD Graduate Students,

We're rounding the corner on the Fall 2020 semester and quickly approaching November. Despite the challenges that this term, and let's be honest, the whole year has given us, we've risen above and done our best. We need to channel that energy a bit more and do great things. So, don't give up and keep winning!

The spotlight video for this week is about resilience and grit and how to foster a growth mindset, even when there's some serious challenges before you.

FUN CORNER! The Graduate Student Councilan organization made up of all nonprofessional graduate students, and your voice at the University level, is providing a limited amount of free tickets for the Louisville Jack-o'-Lantern Spectacular. This is a great solo or family event and the ticket is good for ONE car. Request your code for a FREE ticket on EngageUofL or https://tinyurl.com/y4gr4bph by Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 11:59p EST.

ACADEMIC CALENDAR CHANGE ALERT: The last day to take a "W" for a full-term Fall 2020 class is November 7, 2020.

RESOURCE ALERT: Don't forget about the UofL Writing Center for your writing needs. You can schedule virtual appointments and consultations for all stages of writing. You can join their various writing groups, and check out their writing videos.

SURVEY CORNER: The Graduate Student Council is interested in getting feedback from students about organizing/scheduling a virtual conference. It will take you less than 30 seconds to complete this survey. TAKE THE SURVEY!
