This groundbreaking book reveals what really lay beneath the 1955 boycott and ultimately the Civil Rights Movement that Rosa Parks sparked with her defiance of segregation on Montgomery's city buses.  McGuire writes about a little known rape in 1944 of a 24 year old sharecropper by a group of white men, who then left her for dead in Abbeville, Alabama.

Cost of luncheon is $10.00. To RSVP please contact Marian Vasser at mrvass01@louisville.edu or 852-2252. Sponsored by the A&S Office for International, Diversity, and Outreach Programs.
