The University of Louisville will commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 beginning at 1 pm.

UofL’s upcoming commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom on August 28, 2013. CODRE (Commission on Diversity and Racial Equality), along with President Ramsey, the Student Government Association, and several campus groups, will host an afternoon of activities that highlight the importance of the 1963 March and its significant impact on our world today. We will also show a compilation video that features commentary from members of the UofL community.
Here is the schedule for Commemoration Events held on August 28th:
1:00 p.m. -  Panel Discussion – “Reflections on Dr. King’s Dream” (Shumaker Research Bldg, Rm 139)
2:15 p.m. – Symbolic March – led by President and Provost from the Clock Tower to Ekstrom Library Quad
2:30 p.m. – UofL International Jazz Quartet performs in Quad (Refreshments will be served)
2:45 p.m. – President Ramsey greets our audience in the Quad
                    Keynote address by RaoulCunningham, NAACP President - Louisville Chapter 
                    Recital of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech by O'Dell Henderson
