Bryan Carter, Ph.D., received his training in Clinical Child Psychology from the University of Virginia. He has been with the University of Louisville School of Medicine and the Bingham Clinic since 1985, and is a Professor of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and an Associate in Pediatrics. He is Director of the Pediatric Consultation-Liaison Service to Kosair Children’s Hospital and Chief Psychologist for the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. His research focus has been primarily on the psychological impact of chronic illness, somatization and somatoform disorders in children, traumatic injury and hospitalization on the child and family and the development of interventions and coping resources to facilitate child and family adaptation to pediatric illness.
